What I miss at one's demise? (contd)

I'm writing this while I'm waiting outside of the Intensive Care Unit. I saw 2-women crying for the beloved. Both get tired faster after some time & stops crying. One was fully normal after the initial burst of emotions & whereas the other continued to cry remembering something deep. Why does human mourn so much? In my previous post , I'd narrated a perspective of being in a moment & but there is an interesting perspective about wholeness which helps us to see why being in the moment is important. Imagine that we are seeing a beautiful phone or chair. We do enjoy the sight of the beautiful phone or chair like we enjoy a beautiful sky but soon we feel to own the same! The thought may be occurring because we feel separated from the beautiful object/subject. The moment division (or separation) of the observed vs. observer occurs that is when the conflict arises. But if we view the world as a whole including us & the beautiful phone or chair or sky is part of

What I miss at one's demise?

Incidentally read a post that, a man miss his late brother as he saw a photo. Reminded me when I miss out dear ones. My consciousness is formed in the dimension of time. My consciousness will end with my lifespan. Since my lifespan is obvious, is it the urge to be with that person in my lifespan that results in the feeling of missing? Or If that person was there it will give a sense of security? Security in all terms like social, physical, financial etc. A person as a whole includes his recurring daily routines etc. When we say we miss one upon one's demise, is it a whole person Or just that person's good will for me? The whole person is no more & that is the fact. Is it my selfish urge to be with that person or my secure feel with that person, or that person's good will to me - what is that I miss about that person? The perspective diminishes remarkably when we try to look at my personal feeling from a dimension of the time. For eg. A well managed world will

Perception about consciousness

Disclaimer: These notes will be edited as I learn. The understanding of consciousness helps in many ways we look at life. Sound like a midlife crisis? :) Off late I'm realizing that some of the time I'd spent on understanding consciousness for the past few years is helping me in gaining clarity. To experience the living & to deeply reflect on living is one of the many means to understand the consciousness. There are tools available to expand consciousness. There isn't any single magic pill but needing workout on every dimension. To keep it simple, "Who Am I" can be characterised as my body & my consciousness to start with. Body which includes my conditioned  brain, organs, memory etc. To use the body for my purpose of life is when my consciousness acts. My consciousness is the one which shapes my thoughts, my wisdom, my dreams. During primitive ages the characteristics of consciousness (thoughts, wisdom or dreams) should have been hard to communic

A Joyous approach to Maths facts!

Was listening to Jo Boaler's talk given at The Global Math Project event. It is really creative to build those worksheets! What are students thinking about maths in the 2 activities in this film? Please share with any teachers still using timed tests. They are the beginning of maths anxiety for so many. The cool activity that is featured in the 2nd part of the film is in here: https://t.co/lwJOTKPeWB pic.twitter.com/y0SGWz5Kek — Jo Boaler (@joboaler) October 6, 2018 The worksheet can be found here . Why travel to meet friends & family?

A deep topic for me. I've been pondering about this. This came in one of the lunch table discussions with my colleagues. One asked about the right vacation choice, where he had an option to stay back at his rented home near work or accompany the family to in-laws place near his hometown. Another person whom with I'd a chat himself was indicating that he has started visiting home often these days & he feels happy. Realized that I'd started written this post & kept it in the draft! Why do we travel to meet one in person?  Every single time I've thought about it. It reminds me of the visual I'd when I was waiting near the causality of Calicut Medical College when one of our dear friends passed away & the doctor crew was trying hard to pump up the heart! I could also imagine how my distant relative's brother passed away & he was carrying his body asking if someone could wake him up! The breath is really valuable! There are times when you wish
