It wasn't just a weekend affair

Even after an year the learnings are so fresh in my mind. My journey started, the day I knew about the Retreat for Young 2015 . It was a colossal struggle to make up the decision for joining the retreat & finally, it happened on retreat start day at 3 PM . It was at a critical moment in my life when I choose to join the retreat. After the morning session on the 1st day, I was discussing with Pradeep about my caged mind! By the evening, Murali puts up a physical representation of caged mind. I made a complete interaction during the retreat. It was a holistic experience made for me. Those 4 days was audacious which chiseled my mind. Towards the last day, I realized my conditioning & the dialogues presented me an experiment which was to " Love: Observe every relation with deep curiosity every single time! " I left the study center with a profound grief, not because I was bidding adieu or yearn the valley. The days at study center rejuvenated deeply to prebirth.

The letter Mm

The Egyptians knew that the form of the upper lip could depict the sound for M. Therefore they took the sign for the letter M from the picture of the upper lip. From this sign, the letter that we use for the beginning of the word mouth emerged, and the letter is also valid for any other word beginning with the same sound. In this way, the picture sign for the beginning of a word became the sign for a sound.

We eat air

Breads are such an integral part of our life since centuries. Four key ingredients which are wheat, water, sugar and salt . Kneading a dough was a time taking process and it used to take 3-4days before it gets ready for the kids to take it to the baker. Interesting process is how air pockets are formed and the stays within which when gets baked forms a beautiful air cave of aroma. This adds to the experience of bread eating. The beauty of this in a humanity side is that a little dough can serve a whole lot of the people. In fact we are eating air in the process. Scientific side of it may look like breaking the wheat grain into something which can be easy digested by humans. Breaking wheat to smaller grains and then flour. This helps in storing and transporting things effectively. The personal at home process of converting into dough. There after three days of fermentation breaks the essence out of it for easy consumption and increased volume. Then baking it which further increases

Why a Baker?

Years ago people used to make bread dough at home and didn't have an oven to convert them to bread. Bakers used take the community dough and convert into breads .

Little things that make life: Your personal style of living is a great aspiration for me!

This post isn't to showcase any writing skills, but he was one who lifted himself from his own life experience. What an Artist!  Mani's spell in  Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum  truly made an impact & resulted in making me a big fan of Mani. After watching the movie,  I realized that the he was one of the performers of a new year eve celebration our family attended.  How can I remember that so well? After all, that was the only single celebration we had outdoors in our entire childhood. We're blessed! One of my pseudo-modern cousins used to tease me for the fact that I was a fan of Mani. I'm a strong believer in being yourself & never bothered about those.  I don't think my words can do any justice to such a great humble human being.  A big salute to you Sir & you will be hearts of millions! Mani, Your personal style of living is a great aspiration for me!

To my dear Sathi teacher

It was the final exams for 7th grade. He has to move to a new school for next grades & getting a good grade is really important. Or else the admission in new school won't happen. He never understood adjectives, nouns, multiplication, history etc. He was good at sports & crafts. Everything was seen onerous for him. Getting punished, to stand outside the class or in front of the complete school as a punishment in the assembly was common. It was never learning, it was a nightmare for him. Agony in everything, when put to the test! It was during that final exam his father realized that his kid doesn't have any understanding of what so ever required for passing the final exams for 7th grade. His father was worried as this kid needs to get admission in a new school. His father got him to a strong regiment; made him rewrite the complete class notes just couple of days before exams, made him repeat things as much as he can, forced him to learn..learn...learn! It was getting

Mourned by the demise a legend

Cross-post of Mourned by the demise a legend ( Written on 31st July 2015) My voice is trembling. My heart is paining. My vision is blurring. My eyes are damp. Never will history repeat for any to live and hear such an immaculate personality. I feel blessed to be in an era where you have been living through your theatre of actions. Nation is left with a void with your demise. Now we're left with an orphaned question - "Will India achieve what it was destined without you?" You've instilled in us the courage, humanity, intellect, dream, curiosity, acquire knowledge, devotion, innovation, discovery, perseverance, imagination and to be creative in achieving excellence and lead by thinking differently. We love you Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. To a great teacher, What can I give. What can I give. What can I give.

Teach: Importance of understanding things as a whole

We could take a piece of paper & cut it into a number of pieces. We might count the pieces - let's say there are twenty-four & say to the child, Look, I cut up these papers by what I wrote here: 24 pieces of paper. Now watch carefully. I take some pieces of paper away & make another little pile. Then I make a 3rd and 4th pile. I have made 4 little piles from the 24 pieces of paper. Now I will count the pieces. The piece in the 1st pile I will call '9', those in second '5', those in third '7', and those in the fourth '3'. You see, at first, I had only one pile of 24 pieces of paper. Now I have four piles of nine, five, seven, and three pieces. It is, all the same, paper. If I gather it all together, I call it 'twenty-four'. Now twenty-four pieces of paper are nine, five, seven, and three pieces together. It's important to start with the whole and proceed to its parts!
